Our inception
Oli Events was founded as just an idea in 2023 with a clear mission to make event planning feel seamless, exciting and personal, no matter the scale. After noticing how often people felt overwhelmed by logistics, limited by rigid packages, or disconnected from the planning process altogether, I saw an opportunity to do things differently.
With years of experience in operations, project management and client-focused roles, I launched Oli Events as a boutique studio offering tailored, high-touch planning support. The goal was simple: combine creative vision with sharp coordination, and offer services that feel collaborative, approachable and grounded in real expertise.
Oli Events isn’t about cutting corners or delivering cookie-cutter experiences. It’s about building trust, listening closely, and creating events that reflect the individuality of each client. Whether it’s a wedding, milestone party, brand activation or corporate event, we approach every brief with the same energy and intent - to bring people together in a space that feels elevated, well-executed and completely you.
Based in Sydney and proudly Aussie-owned, Oli Events continues to grow as a hustle built on reputation, results and genuine care. We might be small, but we run smart. From the initial consultation to the final pack-down, every moment is managed with precision, passion and personality.

We specialise in thoughtfully curated, personality-packed weddings, parties, corporate functions and everything in between. We don’t do stale packages or recycled run sheets. Every event is built from the ground up to reflect your vision, values and vibe. From full-scale planning to day-of coordination, we bring creativity, structure and heart to every job, no matter the size or style.

Hi, I’m Gary (on the right), founder of Oli Events, your lead planner, logistics nerd, people person and professional chaos-tamer.
I’ve always had a thing for organising. Not just in a tidy desk kind of way, but in that big-picture, everything-has-a-place way. With a background in operations, project management and people-first work, I’ve spent years making complex things run smoothly. But it wasn’t until I started helping friends, family and colleagues plan their weddings, birthdays and workplace functions that something clicked. I realised I didn’t just enjoy it, I loved it.
There’s something incredibly rewarding about seeing the small details come together to create a big, meaningful experience. That moment when the lights are dimmed, the music kicks in, or the speaker comes to the lectern, and everything you’ve planned for just works. It’s not about perfection. it’s about connection, creativity and intention. That’s what I bring to the table.

Oli Events started as a side hustle, born from a desire to take the stress out of planning and bring a more personal, collaborative approach to events. I wanted to create a service that wasn’t intimidating or impersonal. No cookie-cutter templates. No pressure to fit a mould. Just a real, honest partnership with someone who knows what they’re doing and genuinely cares about the outcome.
I’m proudly Aussie, a sucker for a streamlined run sheet, and I thrive on balancing structure with creativity. I work with couples, corporates, creatives and families to build events that reflect who they are and what matters to them. Whether it’s a wedding in the bush, a birthday in the backyard, or a multi-day corporate conference in the city, I bring the same level of focus, energy and heart to every project.
